Dr. Wu is currently serving as the Undergraduate Program Director (UPD) of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Weekly office hours are available to every Mechanical Engineering student. One of the major duties of Undergraduate Program Committee is recommending/reviewing the third course attempt petitions. This page gives an overview of the course repeat petition. Third Course Attempt Petition
If approved, a third attempt is the final attempt to take a course (4th attempt does not exist). It is import for students to go over all the preparation materials before submitting a request.
The Mechanical Engineering department requests the petitioner to submit a written success plan (WSP) and the WSP must have 3 parts:
- Personal Statement
- Time Management Plan
- Course Plan
All the courses the student plan to take in the semester must be listed in the Course Plan section, and the students must address their course load and justify if the load is reasonable. Junior and senior students must provide a bulleted list with all the projecting course work until their graduation in the Course Plan section. Specifically, please describe any extenuating circumstances you experienced that impacted your grade or ability to perform in the course.
