Dr. Wu is currently serving as the Undergraduate Program Director (UPD) of the Mechanical Engineering Department. As of 2025, the department has over 600 undergraduate students. Dr. Wu reports to the Chair, Dr. Ray Chen, for administrative duties. Regular administrative work for the UPD includes course petition review, course equivalency review, transfer student eligibility review, graduation review, teaching fellow hiring, ABET assessment, curriculum change, and laboratory facility update. In particular, Dr. Wu offers weekly office hours during the semester that is available to every Mechanical Engineering student at UMBC.
Dr. Wu also holds the open house event to prospective students and parents. Local high school teachers are welcome to contact Dr. Wu for a recruiting presentation. External sponsors are encouraged to reach out to develop collaboration plan and sponsorship.
